Signature In-Home Care receives an A+ rating from the Home Care Standards Bureau
Signature In-Home Care was recently awarded an A+ rating by the Home Care Standards Bureau.  Signature In-Home Care is the first and only agency in Alabama to receive this designation and the 9th nationwide.   The purpose of the HCSB is to provide a method of rating home care agencies operating in the United States.  The HCSB only grants an A+ rating to those agencies that are willing to vigilantly uphold the HCSB Code of Standards and Ethics. The HCSB conducts a through audit of each agency before issuing a rating.   Criteria to obtain and maintain the prestigious rating include:
  • Licensing by appropriate state and local agencies
  • All caregivers must have passed a multi-tiered background check, including but not limited to a 50 state multi-jurisdictional, criminal, sex offender registry, and the current state driving record.
  • All caregivers must pass Caregiver training and exams within 90 days of employment.
  • The agency must submit a monthly disclosure form.
  • The agency must have on staff, advisory committee or board one qualified person in the field of aging that meets the HCSB requirements.
  • All Caregivers must have all the applicable licenses.  90% of those Caregivers must be W2 employees of the agency.
  • The caregivers must be proficient in the language of the population being served.
  • The agency must agree to abide by the HCSB Regulatory Board Code of Standards and Ethics.
  • The agency must agree to both scheduled and unannounced on-site audits.

The HCSB created the HCSB Code of Standards and Ethics to provide ethical standards and rules of conduct for all A+ agencies and its employees.  The HCSB investigates formal complaints lodged against the A+ agency, staff or caregivers for alleged violations of the Code and disciplines when appropriate.
